Getting started
Getting started on Avellum
What to do first, how the intake works, and what happens once a clinician has read it. Most of what people get stuck on comes down to doing two or three things in the right order.
Before you order
Open your invite link first.
Use it on the same device you are shopping on, before you pay, even if you are already signed in. That link is what shows your discounted pricing. The Avellum link and the Valdura link are separate, so use each one in its own place.
Use the same email for both.
Avellum and Valdura find each other by email address. One email across both and everything lines up on its own.
Keep the Valdura account you already have.
Already have a Valdura account? Keep it and sign in with that email. Do not delete it to start over: deleting an account locks its email out of Valdura. If that email is not the one you use on Avellum, write to support@valdura.health so Valdura can match the two, rather than opening a second account. Other questions go to the same address.
Your consult
Your intake comes after checkout.
Checking out places your order. The intake is where a clinician reviews you. If you close the tab at any point, nothing is lost: sign in and go to avellumhealth.com/visit/next to pick up where you left off.
Choose everything you want in one intake.
The cellular peptides all go through a single exam, so select them together in that one pass. Weight management medication has its own exam, which is normal, and one order carries one of them.
Save your card when it offers.
You enter a card during the intake. Saving it makes the second exam much quicker if you are doing two.
At the end, choose "Continue with Avellum".
It takes you back to your visits page and shows you what is next. "Close" simply ends the session, and everything is still waiting for you at avellumhealth.com/visit/next.
Doing two visits? The second one asks everything again.
Each visit's intake starts from scratch, so you enter your details and medical history again, even if you already gave them for another visit. Your earlier answers stay with the care team, who can give you a copy.
Care coaching is included.
It comes up in the middle of the intake and reads like an add-on. It is not. Care coaching is 24/7 support at no extra cost, and it is optional. Opt in during the intake or later from your care portal.
After you order
Two charges is right.
A cart with a blood panel and a treatment in it means two charges from two companies. Your panel reads VALDURA HEALTH on your statement and your medication reads OPNLP - AVELLUM. You enter a card in both places.
Join Valdura after you order, not before.
The included month is set up as a first month. If you are already paying for Valdura when you order, the benefit reaches you as a credit instead. You get it either way, and ordering first keeps it simple. A free Valdura account changes nothing.
HSA and FSA cards work.
We do not bill insurance. Prescription treatments and lab work are generally eligible medical expenses, and rules vary by plan, so check with your plan administrator. Have your card ready when you finish your intake, since that is when the charge is taken.
Your blood panel
The kit needs no appointment.
No lab visit, no prescription and no telehealth visit. The device sits on your upper arm and collects a small sample in about five minutes. Allow about 30 minutes in total, and mail it back the same day in the prepaid packaging. It is not for anyone under 18.
Kits ship October 1.
Every panel is a pre-order. If you chose event pickup at checkout, yours will be waiting there, and anything not collected is mailed to you afterwards. Panel, kit, results and app questions all go to Valdura rather than the care team.
How a prescription gets written
Step 1: You finish the intake.
Your health history, your goals, and the medications you already take. This is the part a clinician actually reads.
Step 2: Your card is charged.
This happens at the end of the intake, before the review. It is not a sign of approval and it is not an error. It is how the care team takes payment once an intake is complete. The cancellation and refund policy is at avellumhealth.com/refunds.
Step 3: A licensed clinician reviews your file.
In some states a clinician also sees you on a live video visit. A licensed provider decides whether a treatment is appropriate for you, and no medication is prescribed until they do.
Step 4: The care team emails you with the decision.
Each visit is reviewed on its own, so if you have two you will hear about them separately.
Step 5: If a clinician prescribes, a licensed pharmacy fills it.
Your medication ships as a 28-day supply, cold-chain with tracking, with the syringes, needles and swabs you need in the box. It then bills every 28 days while the therapy continues.
Your Valdura month
It follows your purchase, not the decision.
The included month is set going when your card is charged, not when a prescription is written. If a clinician prescribes, you have it. If they decide the treatment is not right for you, you still have it. It is not taken back.
No payment step means no charge, and the month is still yours.
If the intake screening finds a reason not to go ahead, you never reach the payment step, so there is nothing to charge. Your first 30 days of Valdura are on us anyway, as a thank you for taking the step. Sign in and the link is waiting on your screening result. The blood panel stays open to you too, since it needs no prescription.
A running protocol credits your membership.
While a treatment is active, your Valdura membership is credited each month. The credit attaches on its own and lifts when the protocol ends. Valdura bills the membership, so questions about it go to them.
When the answer is no
We do not tell anyone which answer ruled them out, and that is on purpose: naming it only teaches the next person which box to tick differently. What we can say is that it nearly always comes down to one of four things.
- A health condition that needs in-person care alongside this medication.
- A medication or treatment that does not combine safely with this one.
- Measurements outside the range this program is written for.
- An age or location the program does not cover.
A few limits are published, so there is no guesswork about them. You need to be 18 or older. Sermorelin is not prescribed to anyone under 25. The GLP-1 weight management medications cannot be prescribed through Avellum in Mississippi or Louisiana, and the rest of the catalog stays open to you.
If you think something was answered incorrectly, or your situation has changed, write to support@avellumhealth.com and the care team will take another look. A decision is about this medication and your health history together, not a judgment about you, and it can change if your circumstances do.
A service that approves everyone is not reviewing anyone.
